Abstract

The purpose of this article was to determine the efficacy of implementing character education programmes that can sustain the behaviour of secondary school learners. It points out programmes that are suitable to apply when dealing with character education so as to reinforce this domain. A confirmation sample consisted of teachers and learners from disadvantaged and multi-racial schools. A total of 740 grades(s) eight and eleven learners and two hundred and six teachers took part in this study. Dilemmas affecting schools were considerable by collecting data from all 13 participated schools. Findings have been discussed and recommendations have been made.
